Missions / Responsabilités / Activités
  • Build strong Audit and Compliance environment to ensure zero fraud level, value for money, zero infraction to policies
  • Provide compliance counselling, advisory and decision support services to business units.
Role & Responsibilities
  • Developing sound Audit Program capable of identifying areas of high Operational risk within the bank
  • Reviewing the Internal Control system of the bank continually in a bid to improve the process flow and ease audit process thereby strengthening the control environment of the bank.
  • Design and continuously review Audit strategy.
  • Gather, analyse, synthesize and interpret key operational, business and control data to determine the operational and business risks attached to the bank’s business and processes, and assist in providing direction to mitigating operational and business risks.
  • Supervise the preparation Risk Appraisal Profile for all audits at beginning of the Financial year and after subsequent full audit review
  • Analyse reports and highlight trends and issues for management attention
  • Supervise activities of the Audit teams
  • Plan, organize and control activities in line with the overall business goals and objectives of the Bank.
  • Conduct spot checks on high risk rated Departments/units.
  • Evaluate, analyse and measure risk relating to operational standard
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures in line with policy.
  • Support the Chief Internal Auditor in instituting process for assessing and evaluating the operational processes of departments
  • Assist the Chief Internal Auditor to act as a Liaison with Regulators, External auditors etc.
  • Design and implement processes for an objective assessment, and assigning of audit ratings to Head Office departments.
  • Implement the adoption of a formalised and standard audit procedure, and an effective audit reporting process.
  • Recommend improvements for business and operational processes with the overall objective to improve timeliness, accuracy, reliability, and quality standards in products and services
  • Monitor the enforcement of the disciplinary process/sanctions grid in Departments
  • Perform and control the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations.
  • Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans
  • Obtain, analyze and evaluate audited areas’ documentation, previous reports, data, flowcharts etc.
  • Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document process
  • Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement
  • Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings
  • Maintain open communication with management and audit committee, where need arises
  • Document process and prepare audit findings memorandum
  • Conduct follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions
  • Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards

  • Follow up and closure of the Audit Exceptions raised by the External Auditors/ Regulators/in-house Audits
  • Minimise Net Losses due to Fraud
  • Minimize financial losses due to penalties for regulatory breaches and infractions

Compétences / Exigences / Qualités
Education Requirements
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree
  • Higher degree or related certifications (ACCA, CIA, CPA, ACA, CFA or similar) will be considered an asset.
 Experience 
  • Minimum 6 years of Audit experience (with at least 3 years in banking)
  • Previous experience with an international Accounting Firm will be considered an asset.
 Key Competencies: Knowledge
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Banking Operations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft word, Excel and power point, Intranet Mailing facility and the core banking application (Finacle) of the Bank.
