Description
The pioneer Managing Director Sales and General Operations (MDSGO) will assume a leadership role of an innovative start-up with the vision of strengthening primary health care in Cameroon by using digital health interventions to bring health service delivery closer to rural and peri-urban communities using evidence-based implementation strategy.
As a visible and visionary leader in the movement for global health equity, and health access, this individual will build community, create space and momentum for change, and form outstanding working relationships with key stakeholders. The MDSGO is responsible for leading and resourcing all aspects of an ambitious Menda Health Systems. This leader will be expected to nurture and continue to shape the organization’s strategy, provide mentorship to Volunteers, and motivate the team.
The MDSGO will be highly capable of not only evangelizing the product and services, but also bringing the requisite knowledge and experience required to deepen the organization’s network among local implementation partners, government health authorities, and other Stakeholders.
The main priority of the MDSGO within the first 6 months will be SALES, MARKETING and COMMUNICATION.
The MDSGO understands our market (our Community Health Entrepreneurs and their customers in the villages), understands sentiments of products and audience groups. Identifies needs, categorizes target audience groups, and products, translates needs into wants, analyzes markets and organizes data to gain insight to make professional decisions (with Insight colleague/data analyst).
Missions / Responsibilities / Activities
  • Provide vision and leadership by anticipating issues and trends, leading efforts to frame strategy and MHS’s agenda.
  • Drive and guide the execution of strategy and overall operations using qualitative and quantitative insights and creativity
  • Manage risks and resourcing to ensure organizational resilience and long-term impact
  • Provide ultimate oversight for annual budgeting, budget preparation, and budget presentation, collaborating with the leadership team.
  • Transparently and effectively communicate the why, what, and how of strategy and tactics to the team and external stakeholders.
  • Establishing and managing CRM and ERP systems
  • Analyzes target market and customers to identify and recommend effective top-of-funnel marketing approaches
  • Builds campaigns to source leads through digital and non-digital channels (e.g., email, webinars, in-person events)
  • Identifies new market segments that will benefit from company products and services
  • Deliver high-value content marketing to support lead generation goals
  • Partner with leadership to convert leads into opportunities
  • Develop analytics to understand pipeline progression, inform pricing, and track win rates—use these insights to optimize the sales process and pricing
Responsibilities Regarding Partners and Broader Movement
  • Active stakeholder management within the counties, e.g. the Ministry of Health on national, regional and sub district level, as well as with other relevant stakeholders.
  • Set an example of courageous leadership aligned with MHS’s values, bringing moral imagination and ethical lenses to the field of digital health.
  • Find and create alignment with leaders across our ecosystem.
  • Represent MHS and its values and participate in high impact events.
  • Advocate on behalf of under-resourced partners, health workers, and health care systems.
Job Requirements
  • Our future colleague will need to possess:
  • Minimally a Bachelors’ degree in either sales, business management, commerce or another relevant studies.
  • Demonstrable extensive experience in sales and business administration.
  • Demonstrable experienced in using efficient and effective marketing tools.
  • Demonstrable skills and experience in managing a team
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • The ability to create and articulate an inspiring vision for the enterprise
  • Passion for/affinity with (community) health, entrepreneurship, and economic value creation
  • A good understanding of the concept of social enterprise and entrepreneurship.
  • Self-driven, business-minded, and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Passionate to contribute to social impact global
  • Able to take the business to the next level (socially and financially)
  • Ensuring the business plan and growth path for Cameroon are realized
  • Very good team player, yet able to work independently
  • Organizational and planning skills to manage your time and activities to meet deadlines.
  • Learning skills, self-awareness and reflection, and interest in continuous learning and development to improve individual knowledge and skills.
  • Transparent and trustworthy.
  • Available on a full time basis
  • Background in Health sector is of advantage
