Description
The Senior Manager – Business Strategy reports to the CEO and while also working with the Group Strategy and Transformation office will be responsible for formulation of the business’s long-term strategic plans. They will ensure the cascade and execution of all Group Strategy defined programs and initiatives within the OpCo.The Senior Manager should be passionate, results-driven, and focused on consistent business growth and development. As strategic business manager to the CEO, they will perform analyses and recommendations across business functions in relation to emerging industry trends, business expansion opportunities and performance enhancement.On a day-to-day basis the occupant of this role works closely with all Heads of department in formulating, delivering, and executing on the Company strategy.
Missions / Responsabilités / Activités
Measures (KPIs for job)Staff Leadership and Management:· Source, induct and manage talent in accordance with legislative guidelines· Continually develop a culture of strong collaboration and effective team working· Ensure open communication channels with staff and implement change management interventions where necessary· Provide definition of roles, responsibilities, individual goals and performance objectives for the team· Set KPIs and provide regular performance feedback through a well-defined and implemented performance review program· Develop and implement a training plan to build and develop skills within the team· Performance - manage resources in accordance with HR policy and legislation where necessary· Actively participate in leadership team and develop skills of own team· Promote and develop strong relationships with other working groups and ensure adherence to Group governanceGovernanceAdhoc, Operational and Tactical Meeting:
  • Set up / participate in steering committees and operational meetings
  • Participate and provide input into tactical meetings
  • Report at process and functional level
· Provide inputs & drive OpCo wide transformation initiatives, elicit inputs from relevant parties· Drive preparation of proposal on change initiatives SLA, policies, and proceduresEscalations:
  • Manage and resolve escalations that have impact on critical path of service delivery
  • Escalate issues that will result in significant time, scope, employee/customer or cost impact if not resolved
  • Manage and provide solutions to issues that require formal resolution
Opco Operational:- Review and identify key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions- Manage budgets- Sign-off / make decisions regarding operational changes as authorisedOpco Tactical:- Provide input on all projects initiated- Review key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions- Manage budgetsPerformance:
  • Review performance against agreed KPIs
· Review and monitor plans for continuous improvementAs per requirementsReporting:
  • Provide input and status reports as required relating to progress made in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation
  • Develop and produce daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as and when required
  • Report on an adhoc basis on specific management requirements as and when necessary
  • Track daily performances and achievements against targets and KPIs. Report to top management and team to improve strategy implementation
Budgets:
  • Manage allocated budget in line with business objectives
  • Make sure to operate within budget and that operations are cost-effective, in line with a least cost operating strategy
  • Develop business case and motivate for additional budget and resources when required
Operational Delivery / Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure alignment between the Company and Group-wide strategy.
  • Internally collaborate with cross functional input, for the formulation of the Company strategy.
  • Coordinate business planning activities in conjunction with Finance and Heads of Department.
· Champion the implementation of Group or other transformation initiatives for improved operational efficiency.
  • Oversee all CEO strategic and business reporting to the Board, Group and Regional offices.
· Analyze, gather, and summarize a variety of business and market information/trends for inputs into CEO and functional priorities.· Ensure appropriate and timely communication between the CEO and internal and external stakeholders on relevant strategic projects and transformation initiatives.
  • Identify, establish, and incubate new and innovative business streams for market and value expansion, and detect potential threats to the execution of the current business plan
  • Establish a continuous improvement mechanism to enhance strategy formulation, cascade, and execution processes within the Company
  • Champion the Company strategy and its execution throughout the fiscal year and regularly report to the CEO and Exco and advise on any changes that need to be implemented.
· Champion the alignment among Project Management offices and Business functions for smooth co-ordination of OpCo Priorities.Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to ensure staff motivation is high
  • Ensure skill transfer for staff development, motivation and business continuity
  • Guide and direct suppliers and third parties in achieving Opco objectives
  • Identify staff training and development needs and implement necessary actions
  • Get strongly involved in the development and execution of all training programs, to meet the needs of the customer and the organization
  • Recruit, develop and retain human resources to maximize potential
  • Manage team (including recruitment, on-boarding, attrition)
  • Set goals and objectives for direct reports, monitor progress and maintain motivation
  • Provide an advisory function on governance and best practices in client experience
Compétences / Exigences / Qualités
Education / Business Degree:·Minimum 3 -year Academic Degree, MBA / Master is advantageous· Fluent in French and EnglishWork
Experience:·Minimum 8 years work experience·Manager track record of 5 years or more; with at least 7 years with executive level interactions·Proven track record of strategy formulation and execution.·Proven track record in managing stakeholders across functionsTrainings:
