Description
WETECH (Women in Entrepreneurship and Technology) is an innovation center and an association supporting African women in the fields of entrepreneurship and technology. The organization aims to create a network of dynamic women leaders by providing them with opportunities and resources for their development through entrepreneurship and technology. WETECH develops training, coaching, and mentoring programs for women and girls in Africa. WETECH also provides a co-working space for start-ups and professional meetings.
We are looking for a GBV Project Coordinator (internship) in Douala.
Job Summary
The Alert GBV Project Coordinator post is located in Douala, Cameroon with possible travels to the field in other parts of the country. Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, he/she will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and monitoring the Alert GBV project. The Alert GBV Project Coordinator works in close collaboration with partner organs and sponsors supporting the deployment of the project, to ensure the successful implementation of WETECH’s GBV prevention and response strategy through the Alert GBV platform. He/She is also expected to work in an integrated manner with other WETECH staff and project coordinators.
Missions / Responsabilités / Activités
The primary roles of the Alert GBV Project Coordinator are:
  • Gender/GBV prevention and response program design, management, implementation, monitoring and reporting;
  • Strengthening of WETECH’s strategic partnerships on GBV prevention and response.
Responsibilities of the Alert GBV Project Coordinator include: 
  • To lead the implementation of WETECH’s GBV prevention and response program by managing the Alert GBV project design, implementation and monitoring; 
  • To identify new and emerging needs and optimize GBV prevention and response; 
  • To develop and maintain partnerships with other agencies and sectors, as part of the GBV response strategy; 
  • To design and develop the commercial growth and offers of AlertGBV through business development strategies and customer acquisition.
Compétences / Exigences / Qualités
Be a holder of at least a Bachelor’s degree in social work or other social sciences, public health, community health, international relations, international law, human rights, or related fields.
Knowledge and Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in project management, monitoring, and evaluation with a focus on GBV prevention or Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and response programming ;
  • Experience in results-based management;
  • Experience in project and team management;
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, supervise, and coordinate technical work in GBV prevention and response in humanitarian and recovery settings;
  • Experience in conducting needs assessments and program design;
  • Excellent writing skills in English and good mastery of French. 
  • Experience in writing donor proposals, reports, policy notes, and strategic documents;
  • Awareness and demonstrable knowledge of how GBV manifests in humanitarian settings and ability to describe context-specific prevention and response actions;
  • Experience working directly with survivors of GBV using a survivor-centered approach is recommended;
  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office pack, and in particular Excel;
  • Minimum knowledge of new technologies (Google Pack and social networks)
