Job Grade: To be determined based on background experience
- Organize the installation and configuration of servers and operating systems software ;
- Scan systems for security vulnerabilities ;
- Perform or delegate regular backup operations and
- Systems monitoring and maintenance including virtualized implement appropriate processes for data protection,
- environment, configuration & security management, disaster recovery, and failover procedures ;
- patching, automation, hardening and system upgrades ; ü Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT
- Ensuring overall system and server uptime, availability, management for planning and implementing new or reliability and security ;
- Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print upgrades of IT infrastructure ;
- Documenting system policies and procedures ;
- Responsible for the capacity and storage planning ; services, research event log warnings and errors, and ü Assist in the evaluation of potential equipment, resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components, and software ; components work together seamlessly ;
- Perform routine/scheduled audits relating to the systems,
- Troubleshoot system and software errors by running
- including all backups ;
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science strongly preferred, or equivalent relevant qualification or experience
- One or more of the following qualifications are highly required :
- MCSA
- MCSE certifications, virtualization and server products
- UNIX / Linux certifications
- Any other recognized and relevant certification
- Experience in system and server administration ( 3 years +) ;
- Experience in Banking/financial industry would be an added advantage ;
- Experience with virtualized environments (a must );
- Experience with UNIX / Linux systems ;
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 to 2019 ;
- Experience with system security: user access/permissions, remote access, log monitoring ;
- Strong knowledge of UNIX / Linux systems administration ;
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft server and infrastructure management solutions ;
- Strong knowledge of virtualization, Microsoft, VMWare, or equivalent ;
- Strong knowledge of security in general, identity and access management, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols ;
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance monitoring tools ;
- Knowledge of scripting: Python, Perl, Shell ;
- Knowledge of cloud computing ;
- Highly skilled in performing system administration tasks ;
- Basic programming skills - (HTML, PHP, JavaScript, Python, etc.) ;
- Ability to solve problems in stressful situations ;
- Strong attention to detail ;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills ;
- Ability to explain technical concepts to inexperienced users ;
- Time management skills
