Description
The Denis Lenora Foretia Foundation in its quest to ensure the highest quality of services for its activities hereby launches a Call for application of interpreters for its various onsite and online events. Interpretation is expected to be simultaneous, of international standard in both English and French languages. Interpreters would not be recruited as permanent staff but rather, they will be integrated in our pool of interpreters and solicited as need arises, in relation with their profile before being offered a punctual contract requesting their services for a specific event.
Missions / Responsabilités / Activités
Interpreter is expected to report at the Foundation’s Office on the event day or at the venue of the event (when the event is hosted in Yaoundé) at least 30 minutes before the start of the event. A concept note, discussion guides and event program will be sent to the interpreter up-front so he/she anticipates on the production of a glossary to be submitted to the Head of Communication Department prior to the event. Interpretation facilities such as internet, headsets or lap tops shall be provided by the Foundation.
Compétences / Exigences / Qualités
Candidates are expected to showcase the following skills and competences
Competences:- Be fluent in English and French languages with a good mastery of the target language;
- Be capable of making verbal report and be synthetic;
- Be fluent and have strong language power in the target language;
- Have good competence in oral and written communication;
- Be perfectly bilingual (English – French);
- Be computer literate and open to learning.
EducationBe minimally, a holder of a Degree in Social Science or Interpretation
Experience
Have a proven track record of at least three contractual similar previous experiences, or at least 2 years’ experience as an interpreter in a well-established Organization
