- Together with the rest of the accounting and finance team;
- Ensure that accounting transactions are recorded in line with the precisions of the Revised SYSCOHADA Plan;
- Participate in the processing and recording of accounting information in order to produce reliable financial statements within strict deadlines and reporting requirements;
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures;
- Ensure compliance with tax and administrative obligations within deadlines and in line with guidelines decided at management level.
- Daily review and processing of accounting documents
- Raise and book general operations journals after review and approval
- Perform monthly Proofs and analysis/reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts
- Accounts Payables management (Processing of suppliers’ invoices; account reconciliations etc)
- Reconcile General Ledger and subsidiary ledgers on a regular basis and report discrepancies
- Stock Management: Participate in planning and execution of stock counts and spot checks; stock reconciliations and booking of stock movement journals; ensure that stock management procedures are followed.
- Manage the Fixed Asset Register (Management and Statutory) including additions, transfers, disposals & depreciation. Prepare and book monthly depreciation journals.
- Manage prepayment schedules, analyze and book monthly adjustment journals
- Participate in the compilation and analysis of data for filing of tax returns and other statutory declarations
- Ensure that all legal requirements are met as they arise (CNPS, Taxes, CSPH etc)
- Participate in CNPS controls as well as Tax, Statutory and Internal Audits on verifications, and certification of accounts
- Prepare comparative expense reports on the execution of the annual budget
- Ensure the respect of accounting policies and procedures
- Prepare Weekly and Monthly financial reports as the case maybe
- Participate in the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements and Management Reports
- Any other duty as maybe assigned by the Hierarchy.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- Knowledge of Oracles’ JD Edwards accounting package will be an added advantage
- Be Bilingual i.e. possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in both English and French;
