Description
Waspito is building a community-driven mobile platform to deliver tele-health and Insurance distribution services. We aim to provide Health without a Step in Africa.
Missions / Responsibilities / Activities
1. Financial modelling
CFO will handle forecasting and planning. You need to be able to build financial models that are accurate and robust. This requires a deep understanding of accounting and finance, as well as strong Excel skills.
2. Investor relations
CFO needs to manage relationships with investors. This includes everything from preparing and delivering presentations, to negotiating terms and conditions. You will clearly communicate the financial health of the company and provide insights into future plans.
3. Fundraising
Raising capital is a critical part this job. You need to be able to put together a convincing pitch, both in writing and in person. You also need to have a good understanding of the different types of funding available and how to structure a deal.
4. Treasury management
You will be responsible for managing the company's cash flow. This includes forecasting cash requirements, arranging financing, and investing excess cash. You need to have a good understanding of financial markets and products, as well as the regulatory environment.
5. Tax planning
You will have to minimize the company's tax liability. This requires an in-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations. It also requires creative thinking to come up with tax-efficient structures and strategies.
6. Risk management
You will identify and manage risks that could impact the financial health of the company. This includes everything from financial risks such as currency fluctuations or interest rate changes, to operational risks such as supply chain disruptions. You need to have a good understanding of how to measure and manage risk.
7. Financial reporting
You are responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial reports. This requires strong accounting skills and an understanding of financial reporting standards. You also need to be able to interpret financial data and provide insights into the business performance.
8. Compliance
You need to ensure that the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations. This includes financial regulations, tax laws, and employment laws. You need to have a good understanding of the relevant compliance requirements and how to ensure that the company meets them.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
  • MBA or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant certification or Chartered accounting certification a plus.
  • 7-10 years’ experience in accounting and financial management practices.
  • Experience in a senior management position.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
