Position: IT and Communications Associate
Department: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)
Duty station: Buea, Southwest Cameroon
Job type: Volunteer contract (full-time work)
Duration of Assignment: 1st March 2024 to 31st December 2024
Deadline for application: 18th February 2024 (applications will be examined on a rolling basis)
Organizational Background and Operational Context
RAGJ is a non-profit organization established in 2013 with a focus on promoting the voices, and social and economic opportunities of girls and women in Cameroon. RAGJ engages girls and women in decision-making through action research, monitoring the effectiveness of laws for gender integration in good governance programming, building the capacity of citizens, and information sharing and networking. Through evidence-based advocacy strategies, RAGJ addresses microeconomic and macroeconomic governance issues to promote women’s economic participation and overall progress.
Missions / Responsibilities / Activities
This is a full-time on-site role for an IT and Communications Associate located in Buea. The IT and Communications Associate will be responsible for managing and maintaining internal IT systems, as well as designing and implementing external communication strategies for RAGJ. They will create content for social media, manage the organization's website, and provide technical assistance to staff and partners.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Communications, or a related field;
  • Experience with website management, graphic design, social media, and email marketing;
  • Knowledge of information security and data privacy best practices;
  • Experience with hardware and software troubleshooting and maintenance;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team environment;
  • Commitment to gender justice and empowering girls and women;
  • Fluency in English and French, both spoken and written, is required;
  • Experience in project management is a plus;
